Leitrim show their mettle in Clare

DESPITE lining out without five of the team that played Galway in last month’s Connacht SFC semi-final, a reshuffled Leitrim side managed to record a clear-cut four-points victory (1-12 to 1-8) over Clare in Saturday evening’s lively Tommy Murphy Cup quarter-final clash in Ennis.

THE Leitrim Senior team manager, Dessie Dolan, is quite hopeful that Leitrim’s Gaelic footballers can cause the first major upset of this year’s All-Ireland Senior Championship by defeating Galway in next Sunday’s Connacht SFC semi-final in Pearse Stadium (it is ‘live’ on RTE 2 at 2pm).
