The Sligo Sports Star Awards is an annual event organised by the Sligo Weekender in association with Ulster Bank. The awards were established in 1997 to acknowledge and recognise the dedication, commitment and outstanding achievements of sports people in County Sligo. Since the inaugural Sligo Sports Star Awards, the awards have highlighted the excellence of Sligo’s finest sporting individuals, teams, managers and clubs. The awards have grown in stature year-on-year to become one of the highlights of the sporting calendar in Sligo.
